I just again watched "The Monster at the End of This Book," and noticed something that I had not noticed before.

So I tripped across an episode still, and have discovered my favorite flavor of Dean Winchester: Pissed off, determined with an axe.

It is definitely one of the best kinds )

Alright, so Creation is having another convention in Vancouver in August, damn them, and I really would like to go.  Boy would I like to go.  Thus the conundrum.  Therefore, let's make up a list of pros and cons to help solve this riddle, shall we?

The pros and cons of going to Vancouver in August.

Hey, it's been a while!

I am pleased to announce that the semester is finally over!  And not a moment too soon if you ask me.  These last few weeks have been rather crazy.  Well, really since the Chicago convention, truth be told.

Not much interesting to say, but rather let's share a few lovely photos that I had done a few weeks ago, shall we?

My, but the internet can be a funny little playground full of diversions from the real work which is my thesis in public archaeology.
There a funny quiz about your ideal TV boyfriend, and I even answered all the questions honestly.  As for the results...See?  I was right all along....

Guess Who )

Today has been a very non productive day in my neck of the woods.  In lieu of getting anything accomplished in the realm of actual work, I have opted instead to fool around with some photos.  You see, a while ago my sister found a lovely photo that someone had made of a certain Dean WInchester, and it was edited to look like something that you may find in an antique store.  I figured that our beloved Sammy deserved a similar amount of attention, and therefore I gave it to him, with somewhat dubious results.

So if you are of a mind to, the aforementioned dubious results can be found below.

What have we here? )

This is up on the CW site, and I found it really funny.  Folks were asked to vote on which show they could not live without.

So the cast and crew of Supernatural really had a Lovely Little Treat for us, didn't they?

What with the Scream Awards and all happening this past weekend, there seems to be quite a bit of news out there today.  Therefore, in lieu of doing my Italian work, or reading my anthropology articles, or studying for my history midterm, or doing anything remotely resembling productivity, I have decided to collect various tidbits of this and that  and toss them all in one place, as to have it readily accessible for Ozzy when she gets home.  "Cause, well, just 'cause.

Come on in... )

What is Our Sponsor, SIr Eric Kripke, the Magnificent Bastard up to anyhow?  Just one more week and we get to find out...but the plot has thickened, it would appear.

Oh, and last night's episode, Monster Movie?  That was totally the best death scene, like ever.

Now, although Our Sponsor, Sir Eric Kripke, the Magnificent Bastard, has said all along that he has a definite plan worked out for the entirety of the best show EVER, I was at once among the non-believers.  Not really a non-believer, per se, because lets admit that I do have an odd and somewhat inexplicable faith in the man.  But rather, I did not believe that he had a series long plan and that everything was tied together in a very exact and multidimensional way.

But I am not a non-believer any longer, and sorry for the double negative, but what I suppose I am saying is that I am now a devout worshipper of the wisdom that is Kripke.  So if I thought that some of the show sort of flew by the seat of its pants, recent developments have made me believe that this is possible not at all the case.  Very interesting indeed.

These developments include, but are not limited to the whole apocalypse that our boys are facing, complete with demon powers and attendant angels.

So here goes....

In one of the season 1 episodes, (it would be awesome were it the pilot, but I can't quite remember), we learned that Mary always told Dean that angels were watching over him whenever she put him to bed.  Now we know that Mary knew her son to be before he....well...was.  And we also now know that she was a hunter, and that some other hunter was afoot when the whole demon deal went down.  Finally we know that she knew that something was definitely up with her kids on account of the fact that her future son told her so.  You follow so far?  I didn't think so, but lets blaze on shall we?  If someone came to me and told me about something that was to happen ten years in the future, and I was a hunter who was aware of all manners of things that go bump in the night, I would think that he came from the future.  Therefore, Mary thought that her baby Dean would have someone looking over him, and who better than an angel?

(Especially if he looks like Castiel)

On to exhibit 2 for the defense.

In the episode Faith, during Dean's fit of spleen concerning his salvation, the preacher told him that he saw a man who had an important mission from god, and that his job was not yet done.  So even though he spent a couple more years fighting the good fight, it would appear that this mission is still not complete, thus No Rest for the Wicked.

Alright, so that may have just turned into exhibit 2 and 3 for the defense.

Thus, it would appear that our sponsor has quite a multi season story line up his sleeve all along.  In fact, it would appear that he has so much up his sleeve that I am surprised that he can get his shirt on in the first place, much less be able to lift up his arms.

In conclusion,

This video makes me wonder what Our Sponsor, Sir Eric Kripke, the Magnificent Bastard has up his sleeve for us.  The way that folks keep talking about it, it would seem that it is something that they have up their sleeves for the fans.  And how cool, kind, considerate and wonderful is that?

So I'm just going to pop this on in here so I can watch it at least a billion times, and speculate upon occasion as to its meaning...and also so that I can try and figure out how to do all this...

Oh, oh, oh...is Sammy carrying pie?  That really ties into my new theory about last week's episode "Metamorphosis," by the way.  About the two punches that Dean laid on Sammy.  You see, the first one was because of Sam's whole bit with the powers and the lying and the betrayal and the sneaking around and the Ruby weirdness.  The second one?  Well, that was because Sammy had forgotten the pie two weeks earlier, and well, that is simply unforgivable if you ask me.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

The End.

 ...and a thousand miles behind.

It is sort of funny how sometimes a Dylan song can just sum up a person's world view in under ten words.  That is mastery if you ask me. On the way to school today, the radio played an unreleased Dylan cover of a Robert Johnson song, it was supposed to have gone on his album "World Gone Wrong" which is definitely one of my favorites, but did not make the cut.  Too bad, since it was really sort of awesome and eloquent and stripped down, and Dylan's gravelly and time-tested and time-torn voice was really on the money for it.  Either way, it really put me in a Dylan frame of mind, which admittedly, is never that much of a stretch.

So today was really a day from hell, thus the icon.  I definitely took that right turn at about 8.30 this morning, but luckily took a left turn about nine hours later.  About a pack of cigarettes and a huge iced cappuccino later, life seems to be looking up a little.

Time now for a digression...

And then there is Dexter, which, admittedly, started out a little tame this season, but seems to be revving up nicely.

Still not really working on my thesis over here.  When will that blasted thing ever get done?  But more on the research front...

Come on down )

So I am cooking up a theory based somewhat on some research that I was doing, believe it or not, on my paper for archaeology class.  I tripped across an interesting article on UMCP's journal database while trying to find biblical scholars' takes on the incredibly long life spans of humans in the Old Testament.  Anyhow, as I was skimming on some stuff, I came across these things called the "Intelligences of the Planets" and how certain archangels are believed to be the presiding spirits over certain planets.

Very interesting indeed.

So, anyway, a flurry of non-paper-related research ensued, and this is what I found--
